Overview of the HPCA Act

The HPCA Act sets out a consistent regulatory and accountability regime for all health practitioners covered by the HPCA Act.

The principal purpose of the HPCA Act is to protect the public by providing for mechanisms to ensure that health practitioners are competent and fit to practise their professions.  All health practitioners have a scope of practice within which the practitioner is competent to practise.
