Privacy Policy for non-Subscribers and Members of the General Public
Your privacy is very important to Medical Assurance Society New Zealand Limited ("the Society"). This is our privacy policy under the Privacy Act 1993 for the public pages of the HealthyPractice® Portal.
Information we collect
We may collect and store information about your use of the Portal, for example, the pages you access and how many times you access the Portal.
Any information collected will be stored securely.
The information collected by the Society through your use of the Portal will be held on the Society's central database.
You must notify us, by contacting business@mas.co.nz if any of the personal information that you provide changes or becomes incorrect. Please refer to "Changing Your Personal Details" below.
Use of the information collected
The information will be used by us to compile data relating to the use of our site, including (without limitation), statistical trends, online behaviour and profiles of our membership and site users.
We will not disclose your personal information to any third party.
You agree, however, that we may publish (in any form whatsoever) aggregated data relating to subscribers to the Portal (including information regarding their use of the Portal and aggregated Subscriber Content) provided that such information is published in a manner that does not enable any Subscriber to be identified.
Changing your personal details
Pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993, you have the right to access and to request correction of any of your personal information provided to the Society. If you want to see the information we have stored for you, or if you want to change some personal information, please contact your Society consultant, either online by email, or by telephone or ordinary post. A fee may be charged for any reasonable costs incurred by us in responding to any such request. This fee will be disclosed to you prior to any costs being incurred.

Privacy Policy for Subscribers
Your privacy is very important to Medical Assurance Society New Zealand Limited ("the Society"). This is our privacy policy under the Privacy Act 1993 for the HealthyPractice® Portal.
Information we collect
We may collect and store
a) subscription details (i.e. the details you provide to us when you subscribe to the Portal as amended by you from time to time); and
b) information about your use of the Portal, for example, the pages you access and how many times you access the Portal;
c) Subscriber Content (as defined in the Portal Terms and Conditions).
To avoid duplication, and to ensure that information we hold is completely up-to-date, all subscription details are stored on our central database. Any information collected as referred to above will be stored securely.

In this case, because the noticeboard is an open discussion area, when posting information, you agree to that information being made available to us and any user of this portal for any purpose.

Security
The Society has procedures in place to prevent loss, unlawful access, use, modification, disclosure or other misuse of member's information as required by the Privacy Act 1993.
When accessing the Portal Subscribers will be required to enter their user name and subscriber password.
