Login

Why Login?

The HealthyPractice® portal is restricted for subscribers only. To subscribe, call 0800 800  627 and talk to one of our Business Advisors.

How to Login?

To login on the HealthyPractice® portal you need a username and password. To obtain a username and password you need to subscribe.

If you are already a subscriber, and you have forgotten your password, enter your username in the field provided and click on the arrow button. Your password will be emailed to the address in your HealthyPractice® profile.

“Keep me logged in on this computer”

If you tick the box “Keep me logged in on this computer” you no longer need to log in when visiting HealthyPractice®  from that computer. The system then installs a cookie on the computer that ‘remembers’ your settings. See Browser Settings for more information on Cookies.

WARNING: If you do decide to use this option, you will be responsible for the actions of anyone who uses your login to access HealthyPractice®.

Login Failed

If trying to login on the HealthyPractice® fails, please check your username and password (see How to Login). If both username and password are correct, please check your internet browser settings for setting on Cookies and JavaScript (Browser Settings).

Logout

To logout of the HealthyPractice®  website, click on ‘logout’ in the top menu.

If you selected ‘stay logged in’ then you will be asked to confirm you wish to log out. If you confirm, you will have to login the next time you visit the HealthyPractice®.

If you choose not to stay logged in, then you will also be logged out automatically if you close all windows of your internet browser.

My Profile

Under ‘Edit My Profile’ you can edit your personal details as provided to MAS when you subscribe.

Because ‘My Profile’ contains confidential information, HealthyPractice®  uses a security certificate to encrypt this page.

You can personalise your HealthyPractice®  homepage and newsletters by changing your preferences. Email newsletter Yes / No determines whether you would like to receive the regular HealthyPractice® newsletter containing updates.

Preferences 1-3 allow you to select the areas that you have the most interest in. These will then be given more prominence on the homepage and the email newsletter.

My History

Under My History you can find a list of the last 10 documents you have downloaded from HealthyPractice®.

Additional Software

The templates on HealthyPractice® are in WORD and EXCEL format. If you do not have access to Word or Excel on your computer, free downloadable Open Office software is available from the site http://www.openoffice.org/ . It operates in a similar way to Microsoft and can open both Excel and Word documents.

To open PDF files, Adobe Acrobat can be downloaded free of charge at www.adobe.com

Internet Browsers

The HealthyPractice® portal has been optimised for use on Windows XP, using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.02. It has also been tested on Windows 2000 and Firefox.

We recommend you use IE 6.0 for viewing this site. It is available as a free download from http://www.microsoft.com/

For Mac users, the site has been tested on Safari 1.2.

Browser Settings

Cookies

A cookie is one or more pieces of information stored as a text file on your computer. When you visit websites you may be sent a cookie, and your browser stores it. The next time you visit, your browser provides the information stored in the cookie back to that website.

Most major websites use cookies, to gather information about how customers use their website, to store customer preferences, and to prevent unauthorised access.

HealthyPractice® uses cookies to remember your login and customise your settings. If you reject cookies, you may not be able to use all the functions available.

You can check your browser settings to see if you are set up to receive the HealthyPractice® cookies. Instructions below are for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.02

  • select 'Tools' from the menu bar, then
  • select 'Internet Options...' from the drop down list
  • select the ‘Privacy’ tab

Checking session cookies are turned on.

  • make sure the slider is NOT set to ‘Block all Cookies’(all other settings will accept the HealthyPractice® cookies)
  • click 'OK'

 

Javascript
To login and fully use the HealthyPractice®  functionality, JavaScript must be enabled in your internet browser. Instructions below are for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.02

  • select 'Tools’ from the menu bar, then
  • select 'Internet Options...' from the drop down list
  • select the 'Security' tab

Make a note of which security level you have set for the Internet zone.

  • if you have 'Custom' set, then check that JavaScript is enabled
    • click the Custom Level...' button,
    • scroll right down to the area called 'Scripting'
    • make sure 'Active scripting' is enabled
    • click 'OK', and then 'OK' again.

  • if you have 'High', 'Medium' (the default), or the 'Low' security set, you should not have to change your settings for JavaScript. If you have received a message asking you to change your settings...
    • click the 'Custom Level' button, then
    • scroll right down to the area called 'Scripting'
    • make sure 'Active scripting' is enabled
    • click 'OK', and then 'OK' again.

Security - SSL

To protect the confidentiality of your profile information, HealthyPractice® uses a 128-bit SSL security certificate to encrypt of all confidential communication across the internet between you and the portal.

The certificate is used for the My Profile section of HealthyPractice®.

Depending on your browser settings, you may not be aware of the use of SSL.

If you see a pop up asking you to accept the certificate, click yes.

If you do not have access to the My Profile section, it may be that your browser is configured to not accept security certificates.

Instructions to ensure your browser will work with security certificates are below (for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.02):

  • select 'Tools' from the menu bar, then
  • select 'Internet Options...' from the drop down list
  • select the ‘Advanced' tab

Checking your security settings

  • scroll down to the section called 'Security' and
  • make sure that 'SSL 3.0' is enabled (ticked)
  • click 'OK'
