Project Management is a professional discipline that combines processes, tools and resources (including people) to achieve a particular business objective within defined time, financial and quality parameters.
It employs problem-solving techniques, and is designed to recognise and manage these as they occur preventing potential poor outcomes and minimising risk. An essential component of project management is communication with and participation by all stakeholders involved.
Project Management may involve projects such as:
- Introduction of a new service
- Enhancement of an existing service
- Improving efficiencies
It may be internally driven or motivated by external factors such as changes to legislation, changing patterns to usage of services.
The project manager in a practice may be the practice manager.
