New HealthyPractice website
7 March 2019
We’ve received great feedback on the new website so thanks to all of you who have taken the time to provide this. As with every new system there will be some ‘learnings’ and some of the queries we have encountered to date include:
Unable to find the subscriber specific site e.g. GP, Vet, Dental, Specialist and Allied Health?
The web platform that HealthyPractice uses is very clever. Within the one website the content is still customised for our individual subscriber types and your practice username now determines which content you see.
Unable to log on?
The new website meant that we were unable to migrate your passwords. The practice user name remains unchanged. If you can’t remember it, please give us a call on 0800 800 627 as you will be locked out if you have three failed attempts.
To reset your password – you can click this link https://healthypractice.co.nz/auth/reset/ , you will be sent an email to the address that we have stored in your subscriber profile. If you are unsure which email address we have, please give us a call or email business@mas.co.nz. We have had some subscribers frustrated that the email hasn’t arrived, but the link was being sent to a different email address or has been ‘junked’ at the receiver’s end.
Alternatively, on www.healthypractice.co.nz choose the ‘Sign in’ option on the top right hand of the page. At the bottom of the ‘Sign in ‘ box there is a ‘can’t remember my password’ link – click on that and it will take you to the reset your password box, and a link will be sent to the email address stored (as above). Passwords now must be 10 characters long, including a combination of one upper, one lower case letter and either a number or character. If you have multiple users in the practice maybe a phrase that is easy to remember will simplify access.
Leaving HealthyPractice
If you don’t log out (option on the left-hand navigation in green block) of the website and simply close the website by using the ‘X’ in the top right-hand corner. You should be able to access the content by clicking on the ‘Account’ link on the top right-hand corner next time you visit the website, this will only work if another user from your practice hasn’t logged out in the interim.
Account
On the left-hand navigation, you will see ‘Account’, this is where all the details you have provided about your practice is held. You can update details here whenever you wish and we encourage you to do this whenever practice details change.
Favourites
On the top right hand of each page there is a ‘Favourite’ star – if you click on this the page will appear on your welcome page as a quick link. An easy way to navigate to your most used pages.
Finally, please keep the feedback coming, you can call the team on 0800 800 627 or email business@mas.co.nz.

21 years of HealthyPractice!
A lot has changed since the early days and HealthyPractice has transformed along the way to keep supporting practices in ways that are useful, practical and easy to work with. What has not changed is the heart of the service. It is still going strong. Most importantly, we would like to thank our Subscribers. Your support, feedback and trust over the past 21 years have helped shape HealthyPractice into what it is today, and we are so grateful to have been part of your journey while you have been part of ours.

June on the road - Connecting with practices across New Zealand
Kia ora, We hope you are faring well, six months into 2026! At our end it’s been a busy month for the HealthyPractice team - here’s a quick snapshot of what we’ve been up to. It was great to connect face-to-face with practice owners, managers, clinicians and support teams at both the New Zealand Veterinary Association Te Pae Kīrehe Conference (NZVA) and the NZGPCME Primary Care Conference, both held in June. The MAS and HealthyPractice stand was a real hub of activity, helped along by a very popular coffee cart.

Privacy updates and training
Due to recent changes, this month we wish to remind you of the update to the Privacy Act 2020 with a new principle called the Information Privacy Principle 3A (IPP3A). For practices’, the new principle means there are additional notification obligations when receiving personal information about a patient from a third party. Under IPP3A, if your practice receives patient information from another provider (such as a lab, hospital, specialist, pharmacy or ACC), you must take reasonable steps to let the patient know their information has been collected. This change applies to any information collected on or after 1st May 2026.
