Times they are changing… again!
We’re thrilled to introduce our new manager, Hayden Saunders. Hayden joined MAS in September 2022 and has been a key part of our internal People and Culture team, serving as Head of HR Business Partnering. He brings a deep well of expertise in HR and employment relations, nd is based at our corporate head office in Wellington alongside the rest of the team. Personal Grievance Claims
Personal grievances or PG’s – everyone knows these are words and letters that employers fear. It's important to know that if you have followed a good employment process, you should take comfort from this, but it may not stop an employee laying a grievance claim. So, what is a personal grievance? A personal grievance is a claim from an employee (generally referred to as a PG) which can, initially at least, arrive in a variety of forms. For instance:

Flexible working arrangements
Flexible work arrangements can mean changing: • the times or days an employee works, for example, working part-time instead of full-time, or changing shifts or days of work • how employees do their work, for example, job-sharing • where an employee works, for example, from home • when an employee starts or finishes work.

What do you need to do when you receive a resignation.
An employee resigns by giving you notice. This will usually be in writing but may sometimes be done verbally. If the employee resigns verbally, you should request that they put their resignation in writing. If written notice is not provided, you should write to them and record their verbal resignation.

A week in the life of HealthyPractice
So what does an average week look like for us? We review about 50-60 Individual Employment Agreements, contracts for service and letters of offer. Things we commonly adjust include: Agreement type e.g. fixed term, or casual that should be permanent part time Hours of work Trial period dates – remember the notice period can be shorter for this and we recommend 3 days to one week. Letter of offer details don’t match the IEA
